Cinema Operator Licence

1. Procedure for obtaining new Licence

  • Applicant should have been declared successful in the Cinema Operator's Examination held by the Board of Examiners for Cinema Operators.
  • The application for Cinema Operator Licence should be made to the Chief Electrical Inspector to Govt., Chennai - 32 with the following
    • Original remittance challan for Rs. 50/ - paid through online under this dept. head of account.(Online Payment Procedures)
    • Competency Certificate issued by the Board for verification and return.
    • Two copies of photographs (5 cm x 7.5 cm) taken within a year of application.
    • Two specimen signatures of the applicant.
  • On receipt of the above Operator Licence will be issued (valid for 5 years)

2. Procedure for Renewal of Cinema Operator Licence

  • Application for renewal of the licence should be made three months before the expiry of the licence and should be made direct to the Chief Electrical Inspector to Govt., Chennai -32 with the following
    • Original remittance challan for Rs. 30/ - paid through online under this dept. head of account.(Online Payment Procedures)
    • Operator Licence in original.
    • Two copies of photographs (5 cm x 7.5 cm) taken within a year of application.
    • Two specimen signatures of the applicant.
  • On receipt of the above the Operator licence will be renewed for a further period of five years.
  • Note :
    • Application received late, but within the date of expiry of licence, shall be considered as belated application, and a penalty of Rs.10/- for a delay of each month or part thereof should be paid along with renewal fees.
    • Application received after the expiry of licence but within 3 months from the date of expiry, will be charged a penalty of Rs.280/- in addition to the renewal fees.
    • In all other cases the licence is treated as lapsed and application should be made for issue of fresh licence.

3. Procedure for issue of duplicate licence

          An application for a duplicate licence may be made to the Chief Electrical Inspector to Govt., Chennai - 32, when the licence is lost, defaced or damaged, stating the circumstances under which this was happened with the following enclosures

  • Original remittance challan for Rs. 25/ - paidthrough online under this dept. head of account.(Online Payment Procedures)
  • Two copies of photographs (5 cm x 7.5 cm) taken within a year of application.
  • Two specimen signatures of the applicant.

Note : The duplicate licence will be issued at the discretion of Chief Electrical Inspector to Govt.
